I know the blogosphere worked really hard to help elect Ned Lamont, but I hope some of that love can be shown to protect a good incumbent:
Dan Akaka. He voted against Bush's war in Iraq, and wants to bring home our troops. He was one of the 13 Senators to support the Kerry/Feingold Amendment asking for a troop withdrawl from Iraq. He's endorsed by Peace Action and is a consistent progressive in the Senate.
His challenger, Congressman Ed Case, voted to rubber stamp Bush's failing and bogus Iraq war. He's an active DLC caucus member in Congress who endorsed Lieberman for President. Case is no progressive. He's conservative, and is actively gunning for Republican voters in Hawaii's open primary.
I hope the blogosphere will show Akaka some of that same love they've shown Lamont, or all of his votes in the senate will be cancelled out by another DLC-Democrat-In-Name-Only in Ed Case.
